| Vegas was fun. The Palace station hotel that i stayed at was not on the strip, which was no great loss. i played the five cent slots like the old ladies with virginia slim ciggys hanging from the side of their mouth. i spent $28 during my two day stay and broke even.
The American Adoption Conference was an eye opening experience. although The focus was on domestic adoption/policies and legislation, i learned about major issues of domestic adoption in the united states. the workshops were wonderful.
did i mention that the temps reached 106 degrees and did not go below 100 during the day? talk about dry, intense heat. and i wanted to bathe by the pool!!
the next leg of my vacay was to the east bay, ca - berkley, oakland and alameda....reunited with the boston crew circa late 90's - lazed around, woke up late and finally got to lay out in the sun. my friend has this hot pad with a sizeable balcony-- overlooking the berkely hills and also jack in the box!!! oh the smell of burger and fry grease......in the morning
hung out with kindred spirits and new folks, ate good food and thanks to my homegirl am considering cutting out my carnivorous ways. those darn peta commercials....

| It's already July. I've been out of
grad school for about a month and still no j-o-b but somehow find
myself working on other projects...go figure.
Going to Vegas tomorrow for the American Adoption Congress conference.
I hope to meet some of the movers and shakers of the domestic adoption
movement. There will also be some programming that will talk about
international/transracial adoption which I am particularly interested
in!

I am making my way to CALI so I can reconnect with friends who go as
far back as my first year in Boston (late nineties) - aaaaah! I am
pretty excited and need some Cali love. Sometimes NYC can be stifling -
not enough nature!

| My friend Rudolf and I always seem to have adventurous evenings. Went
to the usual water hole in da Vill., caught up, chismised (gossiped),
and celebrated the first full day of summer.
On the way to the train station I found me $7...OH YEAH. I bring this
up because Rudolf found some bills on the ground during another evening
of roaming the city.
